Some paintings invite you into the scene, transporting you to a place of ethereal natural beauty. All of my original art prints begin with one of my oil paintings. And with each painting, I invite you, the viewer to journey with me to different places. Not only to my home in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but to the gently rolling plains of Kansas, the dramatic mountain ridges and sparkling waters of Hawaii, and the sandy beaches along California’s Pacific coast.

I dedicate weeks and even months to each piece I paint, inviting you as a witness to the life of the landscape being captured. And just like nature, which changes and adapts with every second, my paintings develop organically over time, sometimes taking me in directions that I never could have foreseen.

In each of my paintings, light plays a critical role, I love to capture how it brings a scene to life. My painting style is technically realism but in each one, I employ ethereal effects, especially when it comes to the reflection and refraction of light. The way I play with light transcends the boundaries of what is real, taking the viewer on a journey to another place, another time, another world.

When I paint a landscape, I’m also painting an autobiography, a story that follows the journey of my life from the beginning to the completion of the painting. With each brushstroke, I record my personal emotional state at that very moment in time. When I paint, the colors, the shadows, the texture, and the light become intensely personal expressions of emotion.
